Montreal is hot! i’m sitting in a cafe barely able to move it’s so stifling right now. Prolly no different than any other July 26th but hot for a Vancouverite…

i’ve been out here for 3 weeks now staying on Samir’s floor. it’s no better than my hide-a-bed but the rehearsal/recording schedule has been pretty intense for Silver Springs, Sam’s new band. We’re currently in Breakglass Studios (owned by Jace from Besnard Lakes) recording before doing some shows with the Handsome Furs. Dave is behind the board and the space and sounds they get are amazing!

I fly back to jump back in to The Mohawk Lodge and to get ready for CD Release on Aug.9th… non-stop rock! we just bought a van and the booking is coming along for our cross-canada tour this fall. should be fun. if you’ve got a venue or living room in one of our TBA cities where you’d like to have us play, let us know!

We’ll be back in the studio in November to get some of the new tracks down. Might do an EP. Might do a record. Not sure yet.

A mere 9 months later, Toronto blog Two Way Monologues, just posted this kind review of Octoberman’s Laguardia EP.

Samir from The Mohawk Lodge has started a new project called Silver Springs and has invited fellow Lodger Ryder as well as Jon and Dave from Poorfolk to back him up on their debut tour opening for Handsome Furs. Here are the dates:
